It’s None of Your Business (8:18) Mar 30, 2021. People who learn a better way to eat want to evangelize. You don’t get a very good reception. Focus on yourself. Get your own diet and exercise under control. It’s not your job to get everybody else on board. More a program of attraction rather than promotion and selling. Don’t offer unsolicited advice.

Diet

Dr Pam Popper: Diet & Inflammation (7:04) Mar 22, 2014. Study of 1000 Chinese women. Cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, bok choy, kale, cauliflower) lowered markers of inflammation. 4 main food groups: fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes. Contrary to silly books like Grain Brain and Wheat Belly, whole grains lower inflammation. Iranian study of 44 overweight girls found a large decrease in inflammation in the whole grain group vs. increased inflammation in the control group. Healthy populations have lived on whole grains for all of recorded history.

Dr Pam Popper: Vegetarian Diets are Better than Paleo Diets (7:57) May 1, 2014. Study shows animal protein increases the risk of type 2 diabetes. 25,000 participants in EPIC study followed up to 12 years. Each 10 gram increase in protein increased diabetes risk 13%. Animal (not plant) protein, calorie dense, has saturated fat. Fat in cells causes insulin resistance and diabetes. Second poorly-designed study said to favor carnivores proved nothing according to researchers conclusions.

Why I SLAMMED Low Carbers At Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee – Dr. Pam Popper (7:36) Jul 28, 2019. Keto advocates angry and rude, claim short-term benefits. Study shows people who eat a diet high in meat and dairy are more likely to develop cancer and die young than people who eat a low protein diet. 6,318 people over 50. Over 20% protein 74% more likely to die during the 18 year study than those eating under 10% of calories from protein. Animal protein increases insulin-like growth factor. Statins improve cholesterol numbers but disease progresses. People starting statins increase calories 10% and fat 14%. Forks Over Knives. China Study.

Whole Grains Reduce Inflammation (7:59) Mar 1, 2018. Whole grains includes whole wheat, oats, brown rice, basmati rice, jasmine rice, rye, barley, bulgur, quinoa, corn, farro, kamut, millet, and spelt. Whole grains do not include bagels, pastry, cookies, flour, pasta, croissants, pretzels, and cereals like Lucky Charms. Grain bashers like William Davis, author of Wheat Belly, confuse whole grains and highly-processed junk foods. Whole grains reduce inflammation; junk foods increase it. Crossover studies clearly show this.

Dr Pam Popper: Why the Fuss about Gluten? (6:21) May 6, 2014. Wheat Belly author obese. Grain Brain by David Perlmutter latest anti-grain storybook. Tells everyone to avoid grain because a tiny percent have celiac disease and need to avoid gluten. Alessio Fasano advice on gluten. People have survived eating grains 10,000 year. Junk foods and animal protein and fat likely the cause of the recent epidemic of chronic disease, not grains. People should get no more than 10% of calories from protein.

Cartilage can Regenerate (8:05) Oct 24, 2019. Myth that cartilage cannot regenerate is promoted by the medical profession and stokes the multibillion dollar joint replacement industry. Study finds that younger cartilage protein in ankle joints is the reason ankle injuries heal faster than hip and knee injuries. Also the reason salamanders and other animals can regenerate limbs. Cartilage protein injections could significantly reduce knee and hip replacements. This and other research ignored while the medical system has chased after procedures and drugs that are very profitable .

Plants are better than animal foods for patients who have kidney disease and for preventing kidney disease.

Right movement restores function while being sedentary worsens pain and weakens muscles. 12-week exercise program. Meniscal tears. Surgery and pain medications not usually a good idea. Approach drugs and surgery with a lot of caution.
